For narrators and publishers
Using PromptVO on publisher titles
Many audiobook publishers ask narrators to check before a manuscript goes into any outside tool. That is the right call. This page makes the check quick: a note narrators can send, and a plain account of what happens to a manuscript for the teams who answer.
Publishers who have confirmed
Each publisher here reviewed PromptVO and agreed to be named. It is still worth a quick word with your contact on each project.

Asking your publisher?
Send your casting or production contact a short note before you upload. Here is one you can copy. Change anything you like.
Hi [name], Before I start on [title], I'd like to check that it's OK to use PromptVO to prep and read the manuscript. It's a manuscript prep and teleprompter tool for narrators. It doesn't generate voice or touch the audio, and its terms bar using manuscripts to train any generative text or voice model. There's a short summary for casting and production teams here: https://www.promptvo.com/publishers Is it OK to use it on this title? Thanks, [your name]
Then tell me what they said, yes or no, at enes@promptvo.com. If they have questions, I will answer them directly. Every answer helps me get PromptVO cleared with that publisher for every narrator who records for them.

What happens to a manuscript in PromptVO
PromptVO is a manuscript prep and teleprompter tool. A narrator uploads the manuscript to their own account. PromptVO formats it for reading, marks chapters, characters, and pronunciations, and follows along as they record. It does not generate voice, and it does not produce or alter the finished audio.
Never used for generative AI, never sold
Manuscripts are never used to create, train, fine-tune, or improve any generative text or language model. Recordings are never used for any generative voice model, voice clone, or digital replica. Neither is ever sold.
Outside AI services keep nothing
Some prep steps call an outside AI service. Those services run under zero-retention agreements: they do not keep the manuscript after returning a result, and they cannot train on it.
Narrators can opt out of model improvement
PromptVO improves its own non-generative models, the ones that read a printed page and flag misreads, using pages and recordings. A narrator can opt out at any time by emailing admin@promptvo.com, with no effect on the service.
Recordings are for accuracy checks only
Live session recordings are kept only to measure how accurately misreads are flagged, are marked for evaluation use only, and are deleted on request or with the account.
Deletion ends the license
When a narrator deletes a project or their account, PromptVO's license to that manuscript ends, apart from backup copies kept until the normal backup cycle clears them.
Kept apart and audited
Voice and manuscript data are stored and processed in segregated environments, with automated checks that keep them out of any generative training pipeline, audited at least once a year.
These commitments are binding in section 25 of the Terms of Service and set out in section 5 of the Privacy Notice.

PromptVO signed the NAVA fAIr Voices pledge, and we hold ourselves to it.
The National Association of Voice Actors' public standard for ethical AI: consent, control, and no training of synthetic voice models on your work.

Questions from narrators and publishers
Does PromptVO use manuscripts to train AI?
Not generative AI, ever. PromptVO never uses a manuscript to train a generative text or language model, and never uses a recording to build a voice model or voice clone. It does improve its own non-generative models, the ones that read a printed page and flag misreads, using pages and recordings. A narrator can opt out of that at any time by emailing admin@promptvo.com.
Does PromptVO generate voices or change the audio?
No. PromptVO formats the manuscript for reading, marks chapters, characters, and pronunciations, follows the narrator as they record, and flags possible misreads. The narrator does every word of the performance, and the finished audio is theirs to edit in their own software.
Do I need my publisher’s permission to use PromptVO?
That depends on your agreement with them. Many publishers ask narrators to check before a manuscript goes into any outside tool, so when in doubt, ask. The note on this page makes it a two-minute email.
What about ACX or author-direct titles?
On those, the author usually holds the rights, so the author is the one to ask if you are unsure. The same note works for them.
Who can a publisher contact about PromptVO?
Me. I'm Enes, and I build PromptVO. Write to enes@promptvo.com and I will send a one-page summary, fill in your questionnaire, or set up a short call.
